Durga Puja festival marks the victory of good over evil, with the slaying of demon Mahishasura by Goddess Durga. It is a worship of power of Good which always wins over the bad. Durga Puja, is widely celebrated in the Indian states of West Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand, Orissa & Tripura where it is a five-day annual holiday. Durga Puja 2013 dates: This year Durga Puja is scheduled to start with the Panchami Puja and will end with Vijaya Dashami or Dussehra. This year,  Durga Puja takes place from 11th to 14th October, 2013. The immersion of Durga idols will take place on 15th October,  2013.
